Piping Design Specialist

A Piping Design Specialist is responsible for optimizing plant and module layouts to minimize space and materials. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of piping material specifications, valves, and utility of valves.
Main Responsibilities:- Plant and Module Layout arrangement to optimize space and materials
- Read and understand P&IDs and Process diagrams
- Optimize Plant and Module Layouts for Operation and Maintenance purposes
- Design and model (3D) using automation tools from 3D data
- Conversant with piping components and their application
- Manage Projects and Libraries with 3D Design Tools and Material Requisition tool
The successful candidate will also be able to perform basic mechanical calculations, such as pipe thickness, reinforcement calculations, torque calculations for valves, bolt area, and flange calculations. They will be meticulous in converting designs into detailed drawings and ensuring design outputs meet health and safety/environmental compliance.
Requirements:- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, preferably with upstream and offshore facilities
- Fluent English written and oral communication / interpersonal skills
- Good interpersonal skills and working collaboratively with other teams
- Proficient in Piping Stress Analysis, preferably with certification
- Experience with project planning software/tools
- Experience with Share Point for document management
- Interaction with structural engineering team members
