Investment Operations Lead

We are seeking a seasoned investment operations professional to join our team at Mercer. This role will be based in Mumbai, requiring the individual to work closely with colleagues in various locations.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing investment operations, including fund accounting, middle office, and transfer agency. They should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Act as lead specialist for the Mumbai team to support their day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including fund administrators, investment managers, and auditors.
  • Develop and drive process improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Review financial statements and fund reports.
  • Execute investor capital calls and distributions.
  • Support the audit of funds.
  • Assist with research and analysis of investment regulations and fund structures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure accurate and up-to-date maintenance of supporting procedures.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for team members.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in investment operations, with a focus on fund accounting and middle office.
  • Strong knowledge of securities, loans, derivatives, and pooled funds.
  • Experience with private markets/private equity fund accounting.
  • Proactive approach to process improvement and efficiency.
  • Results-focused with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
