Senior Interior Designer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled interior designer to join our team at Design Cafe. As a senior interior designer, you will be responsible for assessing and meeting client requirements and desires through regular meetings and conferences.

You will produce sketches, drawings, and floor plans to illustrate concepts and finished projects using computer-aided design programs (CAD) and hand-drawing skills.

Creative talent, imagination, and an eye for design are essential qualities for this role. You must have a strong understanding and demonstrated aptitude of design principles.

A comprehensive portfolio of previous works is required, showcasing your ability to create innovative and effective designs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess client requirements and desires: Through regular meetings and conferences, you will ensure that clients' needs are met and exceeded.
  • Produce design concepts: Using CAD programs and hand-drawing skills, you will create sketches, drawings, and floor plans to illustrate your ideas.
  • Develop idea boards: To effectively communicate design concepts to clients, you will create visually appealing boards that showcase your vision.
  • Maintain design principles: A deep understanding of design principles and a demonstrated aptitude for applying them is crucial for success in this role.
  • Create innovative designs: Your portfolio should showcase your ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to design challenges.

Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of experience in residential projects is required.
  • Modular interior experience: This is a must-have qualification for the role.
  • Education: A registered Diploma or Degree in Interior Design or Architecture is essential.
  • Client handling and project management: Experience in handling clients and managing projects independently is necessary.
  • Technical skills: Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD, Google Sketch-up, and Microsoft Office is required.

Qualifications:

  • Academic qualifications: A Diploma in Interior Designing (2/3 years) or B.Arch is preferred.

Technical and professional qualifications:

  • Interior Designer: This is a mandatory requirement.
  • Google Sketch-up: Proficiency in this software is essential.
  • AutoCAD: Knowledge of this software is necessary.
  • Microsoft Office: Familiarity with this software suite is required.
