Senior Toxicology Expert

We are seeking an experienced toxicology expert to join our Global Non-Clinical Development team. This position will be responsible for developing strategies and executing programs to ensure the safety of human users, target animals, and consumers throughout all phases of research and development.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in applying toxicological and risk assessment principles to evaluate various issues affecting product performance, consumer health, and animal safety. A strong understanding of veterinary drug development processes, regulatory requirements, and agribusiness practices is also essential.

This role involves designing, organizing, monitoring, reporting, and resolving issues related to outsourced in vitro and in vivo safety/toxicology studies. The selected candidate will interact with regulatory agencies, prepare documents, and provide formal presentations. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Quality, Human Food Safety, and Environmental Safety colleagues, is also required.

Key qualifications for this role include:

2. A university degree, DVM or PhD, in toxicology or other relevant biomedical science discipline with at least five years of experience in non-clinical safety or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.">
3. The ability to apply toxicological and/or risk assessment principles in accordance with relevant regulations, guidance, and/or models.">
4. Board Certification as a toxicologist (ERT, DABT, or equivalent), preferred.">
5. An immunological background is desired to address safety questions for new platform approaches, especially in therapeutic indications like dermatology or pain.">
6. A working understanding of US, European, and international veterinary drug/product development processes and various agribusiness practices affecting companion and farm animals.">
7. Sound expertise in the development of large molecules, biologics, vaccines, and antibodies.">
8. Experience using data and published literature to support drug and/or product development, registration, and defense.">
9. Strong verbal and written communication skills.">
10. Excellent language skills in English.">
11. The ability to work independently and self-manage assigned workload with competing priorities.">
12. Working knowledge of the Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations.">
13. Proficiency with standard computer software applications for general office work and experience in using toxicity prediction tools.
