Data Engineer - Cloud Architect

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain large-scale data pipelines. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing efficient data acquisition strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable data architectures using cloud-based services.
  • Built and maintained large datasets based on business requirements.
  • Developed 'big data' pipeline architecture using cloud-based tools.
  • Leveraged various tools in the GCP Ecosystem, including Python, Data Flow, DataStream, CDC, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Pub Sub, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage.
  • Used logs and alerts to effectively monitor pipelines.
  • Developed JSON messaging structure for integrating with various applications.
  • Leveraged DevOps and CI/CD practices (GitHub, Terraform) to ensure reliability and scalability of data pipelines.
  • Partitioned and retrieved content in Big Query and used IAM roles and policy tags to secure data.
  • Recommended ways to improve data quality, reliability, and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a data engineering role, with core GCP experience of 3-4 years.
  • Experience working with GCP services, including Data Flow, DataStream, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Pub Sub, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
