About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to fill this position, which requires a strong background in health, safety, and environmental practices. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of conducting risk assessments, implementing effective control measures, and promoting a culture of job safety.

Main Responsibilities

">
  1. ">
  2. Conduct thorough risk assessments for assigned projects and activities, identifying potential hazards and implementing practical control measures to mitigate risks.">
  3. Collaborate with shop personnel to foster a strong safety culture by promoting safe work practices, providing guidance, and addressing safety concerns in a proactive manner.">
  4. Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure all health, safety, and environmental requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle, from planning to completion.">
  5. Analyze HSE data, preparing timely reports and statistics to inform the project team and drive decision-making.">
  6. Develop and deliver impactful safety training programs tailored to shop personnel, focusing on job-specific needs and best practices to promote a culture of job safety.">
  7. Supervise shop activities and team members, ensuring adherence to safe work practices and promoting a culture of job safety.">
  8. Conduct regular toolbox talks to proactively address safety hazards and raise awareness of safe work procedures among team members.">
  9. Attend daily meetings and actively participate, providing relevant safety information and ensuring awareness within the production team.">
  10. Manage incidents effectively, gathering data for investigation, implementing corrective actions, and overseeing timely closure of identified issues.">
  11. Collaborate with contractors to ensure they are fully informed and compliant with our health, safety, and environmental requirements.">
  12. Maintain a deep understanding of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and legislation, staying up-to-date on compliance requirements.">
  13. Oversee the implementation and utilization of HSE management systems, ensuring accurate data entry and maintenance.">
  14. Develop and conduct various HSE awareness programs to promote safety consciousness throughout the organization.">
  15. Foster an open and receptive environment by actively soliciting feedback from shop personnel regarding their safety concerns.">
  16. Conduct regular inspections of workplaces, systems, processes, and equipment to identify and address any potential safety hazards.">
  17. Provide timely and accurate HSE data inputs to stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.">
  18. Work collaboratively with the team to continuously improve work processes and safety standards.">

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • ">
  • A Bachelor's degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred).">
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience working in a similar HSE role within a construction, manufacturing, or related industry.">
  • Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and implement effective control measures.">
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills.">
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.">
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.">
  • Proficient in HSE software and data management systems.">
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and legislation.">
  • Commitment to safety excellence and continuous improvement.">
