Position Overview

Autodesk is seeking an experienced Software Architect to play a key role in shaping the company's enterprise platform strategy. As an architect at Autodesk, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build architecture solutions, drive innovation, and communicate technical needs and feedback. You will provide technical leadership, mentor senior developers, and help drive the development and delivery of reliable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and create high-quality architecture designs, solutions, and technical discussions.
  • Work with product managers, user experience designers, and tech leads to translate needs and assess opportunities, evaluating technical feasibility and translating it to well-documented engineering solutions.
  • Architect and lead technical implementation of new features in assigned areas of ownership.
  • Guide the design, architecture, and implementation of next-generation progressive and hybrid web & mobile apps.
  • Ensure solution implementations achieve desired quality attributes, such as performance, optimization, scalability, extensibility, security, and resiliency.
  • Provide strategic advice to leadership teams on technical direction for Fusion products.
  • Participate in global architect forums, representing the Pune site, leading cross-team initiatives, and communicating action items to relevant teams.
  • Understand challenges, customer pain points, and needs, as well as competitor landscapes.
  • Initiate plans and solutions to drive the organization forward and achieve goals and engineering excellence.
  • Maintain a healthy and pleasant workspace environment, being a role model and advocate for architecture, design, and software engineering principles.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks, improve scalability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with distributed teams and partners.
  • Contribute to and foster Autodesk culture values in teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters/Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • 12+ years as a software developer working on enterprise software.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing strategic front-end projects based on Reacts.JS, TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Experience in software architecture.
  • Experience designing and implementing complex cross-platform software architecture.
  • Experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, web tech stack.
  • Guide broad consensus and understanding across teams and geographies.
  • Work in a global and distributed environment.
  • Fundamentals in technology with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, web technology stack, and exposure to backend development.
  • Hands-on experience in developing progressive and hybrid web & mobile apps.
  • Experience with API architecture and management.
  • Familiarity with CAD software will be an added advantage.
