Job Title: Senior Finance Analyst

Location:

Business & Team: The Financial Services division, led by the Group CFO, partners with all areas of the Commonwealth Bank Group to provide financial control functions and specialist advice on financial management and strategy. This advice covers finance, audit, treasury, investor relations, security, and property. CBA India Finance handles the financial activities of the Indian entity, including accounting, business unit & group reporting, compliance, audit, and secretarial functions. We strive to provide the highest levels of customer service through world-class process excellence and technology innovation.

Impact & Contribution:

  • Contributes to the organization by ensuring compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations, and providing expert advice and guidance on complex accounting issues and transactions.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of the existing core finance processes and offers recommendations for improvement to deliver high-quality business outcomes.
  • Supports the strategic planning and decision-making of the organization by delivering high-quality financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function by implementing best practices, improving processes and systems, and fostering innovation and continuous improvement.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Reconciles account balances and bank statements, maintains general ledger.
  • Verifies, allocates, posts, and reconciles accounts payable and receivable.
  • Spots errors and suggests ways to improve efficiency and spending.
  • Supports month-end and year-end close process.
  • Publishes accounting reports and presents their results by analyzing financial information and summarizing financial status.
  • Reviews and recommends modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
  • Prepares financial statements as per Indian regulatory requirements.
  • Prepares and assists in direct and other indirect tax compliances and liaises with tax authorities and auditors as required.
  • Assists internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
  • Develops and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Ensures compliance with GAAP principles and Ind AS.
  • Drives process improvement culture with a focus on simplifying processes.
  • Collaborates with others, both in and outside of the team, to achieve common goals.
  • Key participant in building a strong team and generating strong support.
  • Undertakes all activities in accordance with CBA's values and Code of Conduct to support the Group's vision.
  • Stays updated on the latest accounting trends, developments, and best practices, and ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Essential Skills:

  • 2–4 years' experience in finance and accounting industry.
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Ind AS.
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Experience in a Finance with a strong track record in driving automation, process improvement, and change delivery.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication skills, and demonstrated ability to align cross-functional teams.

Qualifications: Qualified CA or master's degree in finance.
