Senior Director of Platform Engineering

The role plays a pivotal part in shaping internal developer platforms, ensuring reliability, scalability, and efficiency across infrastructure and continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Define and execute the strategic vision for the platform engineering organization.
  2. Build, scale, and manage internal developer platforms (IDPs) and infrastructure components that accelerate development.
  3. Champion platform-as-a-product thinking, driving adoption, ease of use, and measurable business value.
  4. Oversee design, development, and support of CI/CD, container orchestration, observability, service mesh, and cloud-native infrastructure.
  5. Collaborate with application teams, site reliability engineering, security, and DevOps to promote a consistent, automated, and secure developer experience.
Requirements:
  • 17+ years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure engineering, or platform engineering.
  • Proven experience leading platform engineering functions including build systems, infrastructure automation, service discovery, secrets management, and developer tooling.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containerization, service mesh, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms.
  • Demonstrated success leading advanced troubleshooting or site reliability engineering teams during critical outages or complex technical escalations.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, observability, performance optimization, and incident command practices.
