Job Title: User Experience Designer

In this critical role, you will lead research and design efforts to support business objectives. This generalist position allows you to focus on both research and design, offering suggestions to continually improve methodologies within UX.

You will build UX artifacts to assist the team and business with understanding and identifying improvements. Your expertise in customer and market segmentation, surveys, voice of customer, ethnographic studies, and other research techniques is essential.

  • Work closely with Marketing, Sales, and other departments to understand end users through various research methods.
  • Collaborate with internal staff to propose user experience (UX) approaches that meet customer, end-user, and business needs.
  • Act as a customer and end-user advocate to ensure the best possible customer experience.
  • Establish usability best practices and standards, driving adoption throughout the organization with a patient, collaborative style.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional eCommerce team to ensure seamless execution of UX frameworks.
  • Regularly analyze competitor and aspirational eCommerce and digital programs for effectiveness and innovation, providing analysis, insight, and recommendations based on empirical research.
  • Identify opportunities to innovate and improve the online customer experience.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelors Degree in Business or Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Visual Design, or related design field required.
  • PMP/PMI Certification preferred.
  • 5 years digital/eCommerce or related field experience.
  • Experience working with B2B or B2C eCommerce preferred.
  • Field studies experience a plus.
  • Localization and multi-language, multi-currency eCommerce platforms experience a plus.
  • Digital channels experience, including web, mobile, apps, and social; scanning and mobility solutions experience a plus.
  • Hybris eCommerce Platform experience a plus.
  • Endeca search and browse platform experience a plus.
  • Expert knowledge of information architecture, product taxonomy, and content models.
  • Thorough knowledge of responsive design and information hierarchy.
  • Expert working knowledge of UX tools such as Axure, Morae, PhotoShop, and third-party user testing services.
  • Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS, and programming languages.
