About This Role

We are developing a cutting-edge AI-powered search and engagement platform. Our goal is to transform static search into a guided, personalized experience. Users will see tailored content, recommendations, and interactive features.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain backend services on AWS for search, feedback, tasks, and analytics.
  • Implement search and retrieval features in OpenSearch (keyword + vector search, ranking).
  • Create data pipelines to enrich content with tags, lay terms, and related data.
  • Capture user interaction signals (clicks, ratings, dwell time) and process them for re-ranking and analytics.
  • Develop APIs for use by web, iOS, and Android clients.
  • Evaluate performance targets (e.g., < 2.5s retrieval time) and ensure compliance standards are met.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrated experience building backend services with AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, Kinesis).
  • Hands-on knowledge of OpenSearch/Elasticsearch (indexing, search queries).
  • Experience designing scalable APIs (REST/GraphQL, OpenAPI).
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures and basic data pipelines.
  • Proficiency in at least one backend language (Python or Node.js preferred).
  • Understanding of secure coding practices; exposure to compliance-sensitive environments (HIPAA/PII is a plus).
