Job Title: Factory Medical Officer

A key role within our organization, the Factory Medical Officer is responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of factory workers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular health hazard assessments to identify potential risks and suggest improvements to management.
  • Fulfill statutory requirements under relevant legislation, including compliance with the Factories Act and Rajasthan Factories Rules.
  • Develop and implement general and occupational health procedures and protocols in line with international standards and best practices.
  • Provide referral services to employees requiring specialized medical attention.
  • Collaborate with management to address and resolve occupational health issues.
Operational Tasks:
  • Perform pre-employment and periodic medical examinations of workers to ensure fitness for duty.
  • Provide first aid care, including emergency medical treatment, as required.
  • Conduct routine health checks and coordinate visits from certifying surgeons.
  • Manage medicine stocks and inventories, including essential antidotes at the Occupational Health Centre.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, in accordance with relevant legislation and international standards.
  • Develop a database of employee health records, analyzing trends and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Deliver health education sessions on occupational hazards, first aid, personal hygiene, environmental sanitation, and safety.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Occupational Health Centre, ensuring prompt response to any medical emergencies.
Financial Management:
  • Monitor and control Medical Centre revenue budgets.
  • Suggest capital expenditure projects to improve service delivery.
  • Prepare revenue budgets for approval.
People Development:
  • Provide referral services with accompanying medical advice.
  • Offer occupational health and general health awareness training, including first aid training for employees.
  • Collaborate with Site EHS leads to enhance HSE metrics and promote a positive EHS culture.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Medicine (MBBS).
  • Diploma in Industrial Health (DIH) or Certificate of Training in Industrial Health recognized by the state government.
  • Minimum 1-8 years of experience in managing Occupational Health Centres in an industrial setting.
