Project Manager - Data Privacy Compliance

The successful candidate will oversee the implementation of a comprehensive data privacy compliance program. They will be responsible for planning, execution, and delivery of initiatives to ensure alignment with Bermuda's data protection regulations.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of a data protection framework across all business units.
  • Conduct an assessment of current data privacy policies, systems, and processes to identify gaps against regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk, IT Security, Compliance, and Business Units to define and implement appropriate controls for data collection, storage, access, and sharing.
  • Oversee the creation of data mapping and inventory to identify all personal data processed by the organization.
  • Establish governance structures, reporting mechanisms, and escalation paths to ensure compliance tracking and accountability.
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party assessments related to data processing and privacy.
  • Design and facilitate training and awareness programs for staff on data protection principles and responsibilities.
  • Develop project plans, status reports, risk registers, and ensure timely delivery within scope.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing regulatory-driven projects in the financial services sector.
  • In-depth understanding of data privacy regulations.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to translate regulatory requirements into actionable business processes.
