Job Description

Echidna Giving is a private funder dedicated to improving educational outcomes for girls in lower-income countries. Our goal is to create a more equal world where all children have access to quality education.

We prioritize supporting initiatives that address the unique challenges faced by girls in these regions. By doing so, we aim to create a positive impact on poverty alleviation and social equality.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: Primary Foundational Learning, experience working with grantees in India, or networks within the philanthropic sector.

As a Program Officer, you will be responsible for shaping our India-specific strategy, administering existing grants, identifying new grantees, and representing their recommendations to the Board.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing strategies to accelerate progress in Primary Foundational Learning
  • Engaging with colleagues working on related thematic focus areas
  • Representing Echidna Giving's interests and making informed decisions about grant allocations
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong technical knowledge of Primary Foundational Learning
  • Experience working with grantees or organizations in India
  • Established networks within the philanthropic sector
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proven track record of achieving results in a similar role
