Global Import Operations Specialist

As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in managing global import operations, ensuring seamless execution and compliance with regulatory requirements.

About the Role
  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Pre- and Post-Shipment Documentation: Prepare export invoices, packing lists, and other related documents as needed.
  • Insurance Certificates: Generate insurance certificates through online portals and maintain sufficient insured amounts.
  • Hazardous Cargo Handling: Understand Haz Class, Packing Groups, and prepare Dangerous Goods Declarations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Manage communication with factories, CHAs, forwarding agents, transporters, shipping lines, and customers.
  • Negotiation and Booking: Negotiate air or sea freight with forwarders, shipping lines, or CHAs, and coordinate flight or vessel bookings.
  • Document Verification and Approval: Check and approve SB checklists, BOE checklists, AWB drafts, and BL drafts.
  • Courier Shipments: Arrange courier shipments through DHL or FedEx.
  • Letter of Credit (LC) Shipments: Ensure understanding requirements of SCOMET and Narcotics for every shipment.
  • Query Resolution: Resolve queries from export customers promptly and efficiently.
  • Transportation Arrangement: Arrange transportation for FCL shipments and factory stuffing.
  • COOs Application: Apply for Preferential & Non-preferential COOs online.
  • Shipment Management: Handle multiple shipments efficiently, send final shipment documents to customers, and track cargo delivery.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate records for all export shipments, including EGM and RODTEP benefit status.
  • RODTEP Scrip Generation: Understand and apply DGFT / ICEGATE applications.
  • Packing Arrangement: Arrange relevant packing considering nature of shipments, especially for dangerous goods.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with import / export regulations, including HS codes, tariffs, and taxes.
  • Reporting and Collaboration: Maintain accurate reports and collaborate with logistics, finance, and procurement teams to ensure alignment and efficiency.
