Senior Data Engineer Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer with 4-6+ years of experience to join our global team at Prana Tree. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and optimizing scalable data pipelines, handling complex data sets, and enabling advanced analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain efficient data pipelines to process large structured and unstructured data sets.
  • Build robust data integration frameworks to collect, transform, and store large datasets from diverse sources.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to prepare data for machine learning and NLP applications.
  • Implement and optimize data storage solutions such as data lakes, warehouses, and databases.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance through effective validation and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Optimize query performance for large-scale datasets using distributed computing technologies.
  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes using modern data engineering tools and frameworks.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in big data, ML, and NLP technologies and integrate them into workflows when applicable.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 4-6+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in working with large, complex datasets in real-time and batch processing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with data pipeline tools like Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, or dbt.
  • Strong understanding of cloud data ecosystems, such as AWS (S3, Glue, Redshift), GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow), or Azure (Data Factory, Synapse Analytics).
  • Proficient in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala).
  • Familiarity with distributed systems and frameworks like Hadoop or Kafka.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling techniques for OLAP and OLTP systems.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD principles for deploying and maintaining data infrastructure.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
