Personal Care Research Scientist

At Nat Habit, we are re-imagining the natural personal care space by providing customers a differentiated offering of fresh personal care products. We use fresh & whole ingredients such as milk, yogurt, pulp/juices of various fruits & vegetables as well as fresh flowers and leaves to build personal care products for everyday use.

The founding team has a strong startup experience and is well-funded and backed by top angel investors and institutional investors.

Our goal is to create disruptive and natural personal care products using fresh ingredients, minimal processing, and no preservatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, formulate, and optimize natural personal care products such as skincare, haircare, and body care items with the intent that the products have a more food-like feel and texture.
  • Research and implement innovative, eco-friendly ingredients and technologies.
  • Conduct stability testing, compatibility testing, and performance evaluations to ensure product efficacy and safety.
  • Support product claims substantiation and regulatory documentation as needed.
  • Oversee pilot plant trials, troubleshooting any formulation challenges and optimizing processes for manufacturing efficiency (mid-scale to large-scale production).

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in chemistry/biochemistry/pharmaceutical science/cosmetic/ Ayurveda.
  • Ideal candidate worked in personal care research and development and formulated own products.
  • Experience in formulating natural or Ayurvedic products. Preferably 100% natural products and good understanding of natural preservatives, stabilizers, emulsifiers, surfactants, etc.
  • 2+ years of industry experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
