Job Title: Tax Associate
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Tax Associate. This is a full-time position that involves working on US tax compliance, preparation, and advisory services across various client types.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare US personal (1040), corporate (1120), and trust income tax returns.
- Apply US tax treaty provisions to cross-border tax transactions.
- Assist with sales tax filings and registrations.
- Support tax planning initiatives for cross-border transactions.
- Draft and organize working papers for income tax filings.
- Aid in tax audits with the IRS, including client coordination and document preparation.
- Work closely with senior staff and partners on tax strategies and planning.
- Develop strong client relationships and understand their business needs.
- Apply project and process management skills, particularly during tax season.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- 1–2 years' experience in preparing/reviewing 1040 and 1120 tax returns.
- Public accounting/tax experience preferred.
- Strong client communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master of Commerce preferred).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with tax software is an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent team collaboration and multitasking ability.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous professional development.
