Job Title

A Senior Credit Analyst plays a pivotal role in managing and growing a team of skilled credit analysts, ensuring high-quality, accurate data delivery.

Closely collaborating with cross-functional teams, including technology, product, and data science, to enhance AI capabilities and streamline operational efficiency is crucial. This leadership role requires strong expertise in credit analysis and a proven ability to manage and mentor teams.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Taking ultimate responsibility for the quality and accuracy of credit data delivered to clients is essential.
  2. Collaborating with tech, product, and data science teams to iteratively improve AI models, turnaround times, and accuracy levels of the Credit Research team is key.
  3. Developing a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to assist in creating new taxonomies and processing new types of credit-related documents is required.
  4. Hiring, training, and managing credit analysts to support operational goals and uphold the highest standards of quality is vital.
Main Skills and Qualifications
  1. Financial Statement Analysis: Ability to perform detailed analysis of financial statements, with particular focus on notes to accounts and footnote disclosures.
  2. Data Adjustment & Normalization: Skilled at identifying and making appropriate adjustments to reported figures based on analysis of accounting notes, one-time items, and non-standard accounting treatments.
  3. Model Building: Proficiency in creating dynamic, scenario-based financial models with proper documentation and audit trails.
  4. Middle Market Financial Modeling: Demonstrated experience building and maintaining financial models for middle market companies ($50M - $1B+ revenue).
  5. Capital Structure Analysis: Deep understanding of debt and equity structures, including complex financing arrangements and their impact on financial performance.
  6. Lease Accounting & Analysis: Expertise in lease accounting standards (ASC 842/IFRS 16) and ability to analyze various lease structures and their financial implications.
  7. CFA Level 1 or higher: CFA certification is strongly preferred.
  8. Familiarity with industry-specific accounting treatments and metrics: Familiarity with various industry-specific accounting treatments and metrics is highly valued.
  9. Advanced Excel/financial modeling software proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling software is required.
