Job Overview

The Senior Accountant role is a critical position within an organization, responsible for maintaining and updating financial records for Australian companies.

This position requires strong accounting knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Australian regulations.
  • Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements and accounts to ensure accuracy and detect any discrepancies.
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and summaries to support business decisions.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payment and receipt of funds.
  • Use accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, and NetSuite to perform bookkeeping tasks efficiently.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in preparing tax returns and ensuring compliance with Australian tax laws.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal team members to resolve any bookkeeping issues.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience.
  • Proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, and NetSuite.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create and manage complex spreadsheets.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
