About the Opportunity

Developers with expertise in large scale streaming platforms are sought after by a prominent technology company. The Data Infrastructure team is home to a thriving Kafka ecosystem, responsible for providing a messaging service that ensures high availability, durability, and end-to-end latency guarantees.

This role offers the chance to contribute to the open-source Kafka codebase and enhance the scalability of the Kafka service for operability, efficiency, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop features within Kafka's internals to improve user experience.
  • Build services integral to the Kafka Ecosystem.
  • Manage Kafka Cluster deployments strategically.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in developing large scale distributed software systems.
  • A solid understanding of Java for backend and systems software development.
