Strategic AI Infrastructure Transformation

We're seeking a seasoned software engineer to spearhead the transformation of our AI infrastructure at Coinbase. As a key member of our Platform Product Group, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping how people and businesses engage with and benefit from AI in the future.

About the Role

You'll be working with state-of-the-art AI models, frameworks, and tools to explore and apply advanced GenAI techniques, including large language models (LLMs) and Agentic AI, to solve complex challenges across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Project Execution: Manage priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, leveraging your technical expertise.
  • Code Development: Write high-quality, well-tested code in Python and Golang to address critical product and business needs.
  • System Architecture: Architect scalable, secure systems using modern cloud technologies and industry best practices.
  • Mentorship: Mentor team members on design principles, coding standards, and AI productivity tools adoption.
  • Technical Expertise: Debug complex technical issues to enhance system reliability, scalability, and ease of operation.
  • Review and Ensure Security: Review and ensure the security, scalability, and architectural integrity of feature designs across teams.
  • Pipeline Development: Build pipelines to integrate with third-party vendors and streamline workflows.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 15+ Years Experience: In software engineering.
  • Proven Expertise: In designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services, with a strong understanding of micro-services architecture.
  • Strong Technical Skills: In system design and coding.
  • Passion for Building an Open Financial System: That unites the world.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: With a preference for open and transparent cultural practices.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience Navigating Rapid Company Growth: E.g., from startup to mid-size.
  • Familiarity with GenAI Frameworks/Tools: Python, GoLang, Docker, Postgres, MongoDB.
  • Background in AI/LLM Infrastructure: A strong plus.
