Production Planning and Control Specialist

The PPC specialist plays a pivotal role in overseeing production planning, scheduling, and inventory control to ensure seamless manufacturing operations. This position ensures timely execution of production plans while coordinating with various departments, including Production, Quality, Warehouse, Logistics, Procurement, Sales Execution, and Marketing to meet customer demands efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and resource availability.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to align production schedules with demand.
  • Monitor plant capacity utilization and propose adjustments to optimize efficiency.
  • Maintain optimal stock levels of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
  • Work closely with the procurement and warehouse teams to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
  • Implement inventory control measures (e.g., safety stock, reorder levels) to minimize wastage and holding costs.
  • Monitor real-time production performance and take corrective actions to avoid deviations from the plan.
  • Analyze bottlenecks and downtime causes, implementing solutions for process improvement.
  • Ensure quality standards are met through close collaboration with the Quality Assurance team.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse and logistics teams to ensure on-time dispatch of finished goods.
  • Prepare and present production reports, KPI dashboards, and progress updates to management.

Qualifications:

B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. An MBA in Operations/Supply Chain is advantageous.

Experience:

  • 15+ years in Production Planning & Control, preferably in a chemical, petrochemical, or specialty chemicals manufacturing company.
