
Apparel Industry Procurement Specialist

The Sourcing Executive is a vital position in the apparel industry, responsible for overseeing the entire sourcing process. This encompasses identifying and cultivating relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring quality standards, and optimizing costs to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers who meet quality, cost, and capacity requirements.
- Develop and maintain robust partnerships with existing suppliers to ensure reliability and consistent product quality.
- Monitor supplier performance, conduct regular audits, and address any issues or non-compliance.
- OTIF Management:
- Prioritize timely delivery of products on launch dates by planning capacity and production with suppliers.
- Conduct annual reviews of supplier performance with QA teams.
- Pursue and recover all monetary penalties from vendors resulting from performance shortfalls.
- Ensure timely delivery of samples by vendors for first-time right approval.
- Cost Optimization:
- Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings while maintaining product quality.
- Analyze market trends and collaborate with suppliers to identify opportunities for cost reduction and value enhancement.
- Continuously review and optimize the supply chain to improve cost-efficiency.
- Quality Control:
- Establish and enforce stringent quality standards for all apparel products.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure products meet quality specifications and conduct inspections when necessary.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with suppliers.
- Procurement Strategy:
- Develop and execute a strategic sourcing plan for the apparel business aligned with overall company objectives.
- Monitor market dynamics and global trends to inform decisions about sourcing locations and strategies.
- Manage lead times, inventory levels, and order quantities to meet demand.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
- Stay updated on global trade regulations and compliance requirements for the apparel industry.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to international standards.
- Vendor Contracts and Agreements:
- Negotiate, draft, and manage contracts and agreements with suppliers.
- Ensure that all terms and conditions are favorable to the company's interests and compliant with legal and ethical standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Garment management, Business Administration, or a related field.
