Job Title: Data Scientist - Healthcare Claims

We are seeking an expert Freelance Data Scientist with a strong background in SQL, Python, and healthcare claims/provider data. The ideal candidate will utilize analytical expertise and domain knowledge to extract insights, build predictive models, and support data-driven decision-making in the healthcare space.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Extraction and Analysis: Extract, clean, and analyze large-scale claims and provider datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities in healthcare data.
  • SQL Expertise: Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL scripts for data extraction and transformation.
  • Machine Learning and Statistical Methods: Apply statistical methods and machine learning techniques (Python – Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) to generate actionable insights.
  • Data Visualization: Build dashboards, reports, and visualizations (Tableau, Power BI, or similar) to communicate findings.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define requirements and ensure data accuracy.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of processes, methodologies, and data definitions for transparency and reproducibility.
Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
  • Hands-on Experience: Proven hands-on experience working with healthcare claims and provider data.
  • Advanced SQL Skills: Advanced SQL expertise (data manipulation, aggregation, performance tuning).
  • Python Proficiency: Strong Python skills with libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
  • Data Visualization Tools: Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Healthcare Data Standards: Familiarity with healthcare data standards (HIPAA, ICD, CPT, NPI) is a strong plus.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with ability to work in fast-paced environments.
