Job Overview

The Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and prototyping innovative steel and metal furniture products.

This position involves close collaboration with various teams to bring unique metal furniture concepts to life—ensuring both visual appeal and structural integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop innovative steel furniture products such as tables, chairs, shelves, and storage units.
  • Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
  • Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are practical and feasible for production.
  • Perform structural analysis of steel furniture to guarantee durability and stability.
  • Select materials and finishes based on aesthetic, functional, and cost considerations.
  • Conduct research on trends in furniture design and material innovation.
  • Develop prototypes for testing and modify designs based on feedback.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for sourcing materials and components.
  • Evaluate designs to ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company specifications.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to understand customer needs and incorporate feedback into designs.
  • Prepare technical documentation and design presentations for stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Design Engineer in the steel furniture industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of material properties, particularly steel and other metals.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes for steel furniture (welding, cutting, bending, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A strong portfolio of previous design work is a plus.
