Job Title: Senior PLC Control Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PLC Control Systems Engineer to join our dynamic design team at ScaleneWorks. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in industrial automation, control systems, and programmable logic controllers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop programs using structured text and function block diagrams for PLC-based control systems.
  • Configure and integrate input/output devices, sensors, and communication modules into PLC-based control systems.
  • Participate in the installation, testing, and commissioning of PLC-based control systems on-site.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system-related issues, analyzing input/output states and program logic to identify and resolve problems promptly.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of PLC programs, wiring diagrams, and system configurations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, specifications, and objectives to ensure successful design execution and timely delivery.
  • Assist in the training of fresh/junior level engineers and technicians on PLC-based control systems and programming techniques.
  • Identify opportunities for design optimization, efficiency improvements, and technology upgrades within the control systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical & Electronics/Electronics & Communication/Industrial Electronics/Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation and PLC-based control systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, such as relay logic, ladder logic, Boolean logic, structured text, function block diagram, or sequential function chart.
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD tools.
  • Strong knowledge in MS Office tools, such as MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of C/C++/C# or a related programming language.
  • Familiarity with safety-related control systems and safety standards in the Rail domain.
  • Proficiency in safety PLC programming and functional safety standards (EN standards).
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, etc.).
  • Experience with HMI (Human-Machine Interface) development and SCADA systems.
  • Willingness for travel to facilitate on-site installations, commissioning, and maintenance.
