A plant finance manager should have the following key responsibilities:

  • Lead a plant's financial operations, encompassing financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and compliance with regulations.
  • Key responsibilities include cost efficiency, financial reporting, managing the finance team, and providing strategic financial insights to improve overall plant performance.
  • The finance manager must oversee budgeting, forecasting, and the financial planning process to drive strategic decisions.
  • Accounting and Reporting: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, and preparation of timely and insightful financial reports for management.
  • Compliance & Internal Controls: Establish and maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and corporate policies.
  • Cost Management & Efficiency: Lead initiatives to optimize financial operations and provide financial analysis for plant costs and variances to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Team Leadership: Build, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team within the plant, fostering adherence to standards and high performance.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks and act as a custodian of the organization's risk register.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Coordinate with auditors, manage audit processes, and provide financial information and insights to senior management and stakeholders.

This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in plant finance management. The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Accountant with at least 18 years of experience in managing large plant finance and accounting teams.
