Job Role: MSSQL Database Administrator

Experience: 6-12 Years

We are seeking a highly skilled MSSQL Database Administrator to join our team.

  • Installation/Upgradation/Migration of SQL Servers: Design, implement, and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions for SQL Server databases.
  • Apply patches or service packs for SQL Server: Stay up-to-date with the latest SQL Server versions and apply necessary patches and service packs to ensure optimal database performance.
  • Configure High Availability/Disaster Recovery Solutions: Implement HA and DR solutions to minimize downtime and data loss.
  • Automated Alerts: Configure automated alerts to notify the team of any issues affecting SQL Server databases.
  • Incident Management: Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, change tickets, and problem tickets in a timely manner.
  • Maintenance Plans: Setup maintenance plans for backups, database integrity checks, rebuild indexes, update statistics, and run all jobs without issues.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and fix locking issues, including deadlocks, blocking, lock timeouts, and more.
  • Bridge Calls: Participate in bridge calls to troubleshoot and resolve P1 (SEV1) and P2 (SEV2) incidents.
  • Always On and DB Mirroring: Hands-on experience with Always On and DB Mirroring technologies.
  • Database Schema Changes: Execute database schema changes and maintain a controlled development environment.
  • Server Configuration: Collaborate with application developers to test, configure, and optimize servers based on application demands.
  • Database Object Deployment: Deploy database objects to Integration, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
  • High OLTP HA Support: Provide day-to-day support for high OLTP HA of SQL Server databases, identifying root causes of production problems and working with developers to resolve them.
  • Performance Tuning: Work on performance tuning tasks like creating missing indexes.
  • Scripting Experience: Experience with scripting using Perl, PowerShell, and other tools.
  • Cloud Experience: Experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
