Job Title: Component Engineering Leader

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Component Engineer to take on a leadership role and drive innovation in component selection, qualification, and lifecycle management.

About the Job:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire component lifecycle, from sourcing and qualification to obsolescence management. This requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of smart meter technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Component Selection and Qualification: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, validate alternate components, and develop automated test setups.
  • Lifecycle Management: Maintain a robust component database, monitor obsolescence trends, and initiate proactive redesign or sourcing strategies.
  • Supplier and Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with procurement to qualify vendors, audit suppliers for quality and compliance, and drive long-term supplier relationships.
  • Cost and Risk Management: Optimize Bill of Materials (BOM) cost without compromising product quality and compliance, assess and mitigate risks related to shortages and geopolitical issues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in component engineering, hardware design, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of smart meter standards (IEC, IS, DLMS/COSEM) and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in electronic supply chain, vendor qualification, and lifecycle management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
