Working to establish a fair, responsible and sustainable mica supply chain in India and Madagascar is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate. As a Workplace Standard Auditor & Trainer with us, you will play a key role in eliminating unacceptable working conditions and eradicating child labor.

This position is based in Bhilwara (Rajasthan state, India) and involves close collaboration with our governance bodies, Executive team, members and partners under the supervision of the Director of Programmes. Ability and willingness to travel in other districts is essential (Andra Pradesh and occasionally Jharkhand).

In accordance with the decisions of the Board of Directors, under the Director of Programme's lead (France-based) and with guidance from the Workplace Standards & Sustainability Manager (India-Based), this role supports the Executive Team with various missions covering the geographical areas of Rajasthan and Andra Pradesh:

  • Conducting gap assessments of India mica processors and mica mines versus our Global Workplace Standard (GWS) and the forthcoming RMI mining standard
  • Supporting processors and mine owners in implementing Corrective Action Plans (CAP) and monitoring progress regarding compliance with regards to workplace and due diligence standards;
  • Coordinating collective third-party audit protocols for members, in collaboration with our Executive team;
  • Liaising regularly with accredited external auditing companies
  • Developing training content for auditors on our standards and conducting online or face-to-face training sessions related to responsible workplace standards at processing and mining sites (covering legal requirements, social obligations, occupational health and safety provisions, economic requirements, environmental standards, due diligence);
  • Carrying out quality checks on audit reports
  • Analysing audit data and creating presentations for the team and members
  • Providing support to the Workplace Standard and Sustainability Manager in Jharkhand if needed;
  • Sharing updates on laws with the team in case of new legislation or changes to existing laws.

District-level advocacy in Rajasthan involves building and maintaining relationships with local district governmental officers / authorities, keeping them updated on our progress and planned activities.
