Job Overview:

We seek a seasoned Backend Developer to join our rapidly growing engineering team.

This role demands the design, implementation, and maintenance of high-performance backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.

You will also be instrumental in making key architectural decisions, mentoring junior developers, and driving best practices within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient backend systems, APIs, and microservices utilizing Node.js, Express.js or NestJS, and TypeScript.
  2. Develop and maintain comprehensive unit, integration, and E2E tests for ensured software quality and reliability.
  3. Work with cross-functional teams including front-end developers, product managers, QA engineers, and designers to deliver top-notch products.
  4. Collaborate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to adhere to coding standards and best practices.
  5. Design, manage, and optimize database schemas (SQL and NoSQL) for high performance.
  6. Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment of applications.
  7. Mentor junior developers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  8. Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software, resolving performance bottlenecks.
  9. Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in Node.js development and backend architecture.
  10. Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions, shaping the future of our backend systems.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in backend development with a strong focus on Node.js.
  • Expert proficiency in TypeScript.
  • Proven experience with Node.js frameworks like Express.js or NestJS.
  • Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and design patterns.
  • Solid experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs; experience with GraphQL is a plus.
  • Proficiency in both SQL and NoSQL database technologies, including data modeling and query optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and practices.
  • Experience deploying and managing applications on cloud platforms, including familiarity with relevant services.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to mentor junior team members.
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with testing frameworks and commitment to writing well-tested code.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  • Experience with serverless architecture.
  • Knowledge of message queue systems.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools.
  • Understanding of front-end technologies to facilitate better collaboration.
  • Experience with performance monitoring and optimization tools.
  • Active contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal projects.
