Job Title: Network Development Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Network Development Manager to join our team at ADCI - Karnataka. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of experienced network development engineers and have ultimate responsibility for global, end-to-end delivery of one of the key areas of our network; including network architecture, capacity management, network implementation, automation, standards, process management and change control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of experienced network development engineers
  • Responsible for global, end-to-end delivery of one of the key areas of our network
  • Network architecture, capacity management, network implementation, automation, standards, process management and change control
  • Drive operational excellence in everything we do
  • Creating processes, procedures, and automation to improve efficiency in our day-to-day tasks and projects
  • Supporting our internal customers and ensuring that their needs and issues are being addressed
  • Drive quality into the metrics we report to assist us in focusing on the areas that give us the best ROI
  • Measurement of our project plans, build schedules, issues, resolution rates, project plans, response times and cycle times
  • Own all facets of performance and career management for the team
  • Regular one-on-one meetings with all team members
  • Provide both technical and soft skill mentoring in order to maintain a well-rounded, world-class organization
  • Develop and improve incident and change management within the Networking space
  • Drive initiatives regarding improvements to existing tools & processes
  • Provide feedback on new practices & procedures in order to scale with the rapid expansion of the Amazon platform and customer base
  • Take the lead in hiring quality personnel who not only fit the needs of the current organization but also will allow the team to scale with platform and service growth
  • Coordinate with Amazon and external recruiting staff to evaluate potential candidates
  • Participate in initial phone screens and provide relevant guidance and feedback during on-site interview loops
  • Ensure that proper training takes place for all new hires

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technology related field
  • 10+ years of relevant network engineering experience
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Engineering experience in networking, large scale distributed systems or a related field
  • Experience representing your team/technical area to customers, peers, and senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Experience building and operating large-scale networks
  • Experience designing and operating mission critical systems
  • Experience in the application of network design, including knowledge of major routing protocols, topology design, network hardware, device configuration and traffic engineering
  • Experience with project management, preferably Agile methodologies
  • Experience building production software applications or an understanding of software development, distributed systems and systems architecture
  • Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
