About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to lead our team in developing innovative software solutions.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in application services development for large scale systems, with a strong background in Java and web services standards. They will be responsible for designing and implementing complex software applications, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery.

The role requires a deep understanding of database technologies, SQL, and non-SQL databases, as well as expertise in messaging systems like Kafka. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and a passion for mentoring and leading teams are essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the architecture, design, and development of software applications
  • Providing technical coordination, oversight, and leadership for development staff
  • Collaborating with project teams, including scrum masters, architects, product owners, analysts, testers, and functional managers
  • Engaging in technical design of solutions based on use cases and business requirements

Requirements for this position include:

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 7 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 14+ years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required. MS or other related advanced degree preferred
  • Experience with web services standards and related technologies (HTTP, HTTP2, Spring, XML, JSON, REST, WS*, AXIS, JERSEY)
  • Expertise in Java with experience in REST APIs, distributed systems, and exposure to container-based technologies
  • Solid understanding of database technologies and SQL
  • Exposure to Non-SQL database technologies
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to respond resourcefully to new demands, priorities, and challenges
  • Strong work ethic to focus on organizational goals
  • Proven experience as a technical leader with ability to understand requirements and independently architect, design, and build solution
  • Passion to work with people and help mentor team to reach new heights
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills
  • Understanding of end-end system and strong debugging and root cause analysis skills to help support production systems
