Electrical Design Specialist

We are seeking an Electrical Design Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems, including DC SMPS based Power Systems, UPS Panels, and Distribution Panels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop project plans from conceptual design to completion, meeting client requirements.
  • Provide technical and engineering support to internal and external customers.
  • Maintain awareness of safety standards in panel designing, including IEC 60204-1 and IEC 61439-1-2.
  • Analyze project goals to identify technical requirements.
  • Prepare detailed design documents, including BOM, GA Drawings, and Electrical drawings.
  • Review Engineering Drawings and Design Calculations against Technical Specifications and relevant Engineering standards.
  • Suggest cost optimizations for Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Ensure accurate Quality Engineering Documentation and implement practices for documentation accuracy.
  • Plan and execute projects for process improvements and new products, adhering to Quality Management System requirements.
  • Offer proactive engineering support to production and Quality teams.
  • Interface with customers to understand their needs.
  • Pursue New Product Introduction (NPI) and Prototyping.
  • Validate and characterize prototypes.
  • Manage project schedules and MIS reporting to meet desired deadlines.
  • Streamline day-to-day execution processes to ensure adherence to Quality.
  • Maintain files and records in line with Technical norms, facilitating easy retrieval for audits.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • DC SMPS based Power Systems design for telecom and industrial applications.
  • Electro-mechanical designing of Electrical Panels/UPS Panels - ACDB/DCDB/MCC/PCC.
  • AutoCAD proficiency for SLD & Wiring Diagrams.
  • Familiarity with Electrical Switchgear/Cables & Bus-Bar sizing/Mechanical designing/Wire Harness/Product Quality & Safety norms/Testing of Panels.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical codes and Standards.
  • Project Management skills, including Execution Value Chain, Cost/Schedule/Resources Planning & Control, Project Deliverables Co-ordination, Project Quality Assurance, and Project MIS reporting.
