Procurement Strategist

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Strategist to join our team at Trunks Company.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing and purchasing strategies that align with company standards and operational goals. This will involve building and maintaining a reliable vendor network, overseeing the full lifecycle of purchase orders, and managing inventory levels to mitigate supply disruptions.

Key Responsibilities

• Vendor Development: Identify, qualify, and establish relationships with vendors across India for a wide array of materials, such as brass, steel, iron, wood, leather, marble, and LED.
• Build and Maintain Vendor Network: Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of approved suppliers to streamline procurement processes.
• Purchase Order Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of purchase orders, from initial request to order fulfilment, ensuring timely, quality delivery.
• Inventory Management: Track, measure, and manage inventory levels, coordinating with vendors to mitigate supply disruptions.

Negotiation and Price Management

The ideal candidate will leverage industry knowledge and strong negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing and favourable terms with vendors. They will also maintain a commercial mindset to balance cost-saving initiatives with quality and relationship-building.

Vendor Relations and Compliance

The successful candidate will conduct regular vendor audits, manage quality control for procured materials, and ensure timely follow-up on payments in coordination with the accounts department. They will also ensure all sourcing activities comply with company standards, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.

Strategic Planning and Execution

The Procurement Strategist will develop and implement sourcing and purchasing strategies that align with company standards and operational goals. They will maintain a comprehensive database of approved suppliers to streamline procurement processes.

System and Process Improvement

The successful candidate will oversee the ongoing procurement FMS, streamlining purchasing processes, tracking orders, and managing vendor information. They will continuously analyze procurement FMS to identify areas for improvement, streamline workflows, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $115,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
