As a seasoned migration expert, you will play a pivotal role in crafting and implementing automated migration pipelines for enterprise Kafka workloads to open-source or cloud-native clusters. Your primary objective will be to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities:
  • You will script and provision migration steps, automate validation, rollback, and monitoring tasks to minimize downtime.
  • You will develop and integrate custom plugins for Kafka Connect as part of migration workflows, utilizing expertise in scripting languages such as Python, Go, and Bash.
  • You will build scalable CI/CD processes for Kafka resource provisioning and configuration rollouts, leveraging tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • You will ensure automated tests cover data integrity, performance, and integration interfaces post-migration, using frameworks like Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring.
  • You will integrate with cloud orchestration platforms, manage infrastructure-as-code, and expose services through APIs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Expertise in Apache Kafka administration and migration
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Go, Bash)
  • Familiarity with Kafka Connect custom plugin API, Maven/Gradle
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of monitoring/validation: Prometheus, Grafana
  • Able to automate rollback/validation steps for migrations
  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Data ops and security automation
