About this Solar Design Role

We're seeking an accomplished solar designer with a strong skillset to join our team.

This position requires a combination of technical expertise and design acumen to create efficient, practical, and visually appealing solar solutions.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in designing 2D and 3D solar rooftop layouts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop accurate 2D and 3D rooftop solar designs using SketchUp software.
  • Create detailed models of solar panels, mounting structures, and rooftop components.
  • Use the mounting structure library to design panel arrangements that meet technical specifications.
  • Identify and incorporate rooftop obstacles into the design process.
  • Make informed design decisions regarding spacing for cleaning and maintenance access.
  • Add overhangs as necessary to maximize energy generation while ensuring safety and feasibility.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in SketchUp solar design (rooftop PV projects preferred).
  • Strong understanding of rooftop solar project requirements and structural configurations.
  • Ability to interpret technical inputs into workable models.
  • Familiarity with solar mounting systems and ability to apply them within designs.
  • Attention to detail for accurate modeling and measurements.
  • Good visualization skills to create professional design presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SketchUp and Skalion software.
  • Knowledge of basic solar engineering principles.
