Product Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Product Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the mechanical design of multi-gas sensor products from concept to production.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing complete sensor systems, including housings, gas flow architecture, simulation chambers, control units, and portable instruments.
  • Collaborating closely with electronics, materials, and compliance teams to ensure seamless product integration.
  • Optimizing designs for suitability to manufacture, performance, and cost across diverse environmental conditions.
  • Conducting simulations, tolerance analysis, and failure assessments.
  • Selecting materials and finishes compatible with gas sensing applications.
  • Supporting regulatory documentation and interface with suppliers to drive product rollout from concept to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Supporting in technical documentation and datasheet, application notes, user manuals and other collateral creation.

Requirements include 5-8 years of experience in mechanical/product design, a Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design, membership in a Formula One Student Team, and expertise in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Fusion 360, Inventor, CATIA.

A strong aesthetic sense, knowledge of DFM principles, and experience with injection moulding, CNC-based metallic enclosures, NPT, BSP, BSPT threads, and machined fittings are also essential.

Bonus skills include understanding of electronics, chemistry, sensors, and packaging.
