Design an Efficient Sewage Treatment Plant

Bharat Ecolabs, a pioneering cleantech startup, is seeking a talented STP Design Engineer to deliver decentralized, technology-driven sewage treatment solutions. The ideal candidate will integrate process engineering, civil-structural design, and IoT for sustainable wastewater management.

The role involves developing detailed process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and mass-balance calculations to size tanks, clarifiers, and filters. You will prepare civil layout plans, structural drawings, and foundation designs using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and STAAD.Pro.

You will specify materials, reinforcement details, and ensure compliance with IS codes and local building regulations. Additionally, you will create 3D models for clash detection between process piping, electrical conduits, and structural members.

Your tasks include generating bill of quantities, material take-offs, and cost estimates for civil and MEICA scopes. You will liaise with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams to finalize civil-MEP interfaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop PFDs and P&IDs for packaged and modular STPs
  • Perform mass-balance and hydraulic calculations to size tanks, clarifiers, and filters
  • Prepare civil layout plans, structural drawings, and foundation designs using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and STAAD.Pro
  • Specify materials, reinforcement details, and ensure compliance with IS codes and local building regulations
  • Create 3D models for clash detection between process piping, electrical conduits, and structural members
  • Generate bill of quantities, material take-offs, and cost estimates for civil and MEICA scopes
  • Liaise with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams to finalize civil-MEP interfaces
  • Review vendor drawings for clarifiers, blowers, pumps, and mixers; ensure constructability and installation feasibility
  • Conduct periodic site visits to verify foundation layouts, civil workmanship, and adherence to design specs
  • Support commissioning by validating structural and process parameters against design benchmarks

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience: 4-6 years in STP/ETP design, with hands-on involvement in civil and structural engineering
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and STAAD.Pro
  • Familiarity with process-engineering software is a plus
  • Strong understanding of Indian Standards and RCC design principles
