Senior Data Engineering Lead

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineering Lead to oversee the design, development, and optimization of scalable data pipelines, data models, and analytics solutions on Snowflake.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of best practices around performance tuning, cost optimization, and data governance in Snowflake data warehouses.
  • Create scalable data models supporting BFSI use cases (e.g., regulatory reporting, fraud detection, risk analytics).
  • Build, schedule, and monitor complex data pipelines using Matillion.
  • Optimize ELT workflows for large-scale BFSI data volumes (transactional, customer, risk, and compliance datasets).
  • Implement robust error handling, logging, and recovery mechanisms.
  • Translate Banking data requirements into scalable Snowflake solutions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, and reporting teams to deliver analytical datasets.
  • Partner with cloud engineers to ensure secure, compliant cloud deployments.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers on Snowflake and Matillion best practices.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience with over 6 years hands-on experience with Snowflake.
  • Advanced Matillion ETL development (or similar cloud-native ETL tools).
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, DevOps integration for data workflows.
  • Deep understanding of financial data models (customer 360, payments, credit/debit, claims, risk, fraud).
  • Exposure to BFSI regulations & compliance in data handling and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to lead data discussions with both business and technical teams.
