Project Accountant Position Summary
">This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial accounting, project management, and reporting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading the monthly reporting process, ensuring timely and accurate financial information is provided to internal and external customers.
- Performing revenue recognition exercises in the system.
- Consolidating and maintaining a central repository of project data obtained from project managers and suppliers.
- Resolving discrepancies between PA & GL for control accounts.
- Conducting month-end checks (EAC movements, Loss Accruals, Cost Corrections).
- Preparing records required to ensure correct revenue recognition and project accounting.
- Preparing standard reports for the front office.
- Managing WIP Aging and UBR UER Aging.
- Performing contract reading to assess POC/CC accounting treatment as per policy.
- Ensuring timely closure of projects.
- Leading PA module closure.
- Generating various reports for project analysis.
- Identifying efficiency and operational improvements to provide better financial information and reporting to operational managers.
- Providing support for audit requests.
For this role, you will need:
- Flexibility to work according to Asia Pacific timelines, especially during month-ends and specific requests.
- A finance professional with a minimum of 1–2 years of work experience in cost accounting or FP&A domain.
- Hands-on experience in ERP, MS Office, and reporting tools.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI, and related presentation tools.
- A self-starter, suggesting and implementing improvements to processes.
- Ability to balance customer, situational adaptability, complexities, and ambiguity.
- Strong numerical, analytical skills with accuracy along with communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team – as an excellent teammate.
- Ability to think creatively, driven, and self-motivated.
Preferred Qualifications
- Qualified Chartered Accountant, CMA, or equivalent degree.
- Basic understanding of Accounting Principles and US GAAP.
- System knowledge of Oracle, Hyperion Financial Management.
