Senior Data Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Data Engineer to join our data team.

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient ETL/ELT pipelines using dbt, Snowflake, and Python.
  • Optimize data models and warehouse performance in Snowflake.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and business teams to understand data needs and deliver high-quality datasets.
  • Evaluate and ensure data quality, governance, and compliance across pipelines.
  • Automate data workflows and monitor production jobs to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Participate in architectural decisions and advocate for best practices in data engineering.
  • Maintain documentation of data pipelines, transformations, and data models.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake (data modeling, performance tuning, security features).
  • Proven experience using dbt for data transformation and modeling.
  • Proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks and scripting.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and experience in building and maintaining complex queries.
  • Experience with orchestration tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
