Role: QA Automation Specialist - Backend

Location: Remote

About the Role:

As a QA Automation Specialist - Backend, the candidate will play a critical role in ensuring software quality by collaborating with cross-functional teams and validating API functionality, creating automated test scripts, and conducting performance and security testing to maintain the integrity and reliability of our backend systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Developers, DevOps, and Product Managers to maintain a high standard of software quality.
  • Prepare documented API Test Cases from PRDs and validate API requests and responses, ensuring Data Sanity as per Business Requirements.
  • Maintain Postman API Workspace/Collection and develop robust and reusable automated test scripts for testing REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, and Websockets using tools like Postman.
  • Performance/Load Testing (HTTP APIs, Graphql, and Websockets) with tools like Jmeter and load testing scripts.
  • DB (Mongodb, Mysql, Cassandra) Data validation and Health & Query Performance Monitoring using Atlas Tools and PMM dashboards.
  • Ensuring API Security best practices including Rate limiting, Throttling, WAF, and DDOS Protection.
  • Backend Microservices health monitoring using Grafana, CloudWatch, and Kubernetes Dashboards.
  • Monitoring Production Logs using tools like ELK and setting up and monitoring Alarms & Alerts related to cost and service downtime.
  • Bug Reporting, Resolution Tracking using tools like Jira and perform RCA for defects with detailed documentation.
  • Familiar with testing paradigms like Unit tests, Functional testing, Integration testing, White box and Black box testing, System Acceptance Testing, and User Acceptance Testing.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest automation tools, frameworks, and testing trends.

You are better than others if you:

  • Have experience in writing JS unit test cases using tools like Mocha, Chai, and Jest.
  • Have experience with frontend automated testing using tools like Appium and Selenium.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest automation tools, frameworks, and testing trends.
