The Data Engineer plays a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines using Azure services. This includes leading the integration strategy for ingesting and harmonizing data from external sources, automating ETL processes, and building real-time and batch data integration workflows between cloud and on-premises sources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop data pipelines using Azure services to optimize data flow and ensure scalability.
  • Lead integration strategy for external data sources, including AWS-based data lakes/warehouses and SAP systems.
  • Automate ETL processes across hybrid and multi-cloud environments to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
Data Architecture & Infrastructure
  • Design and implement data lake and data warehouse solutions on Azure to support business growth and insights.
  • Establish data governance frameworks and ensure data quality across all pipelines to maintain trust and accuracy.
  • Implement security best practices for handling sensitive pharmaceutical data to protect company assets.
  • Create and maintain data documentation and lineage tracking to ensure transparency and accountability.
Automation & Tooling
  • Develop data automation tools and reusable components using Python, PySpark, and other relevant frameworks/languages to streamline processes and reduce manual effort.
  • Enable end-to-end process automation for data ingestion, processing, and reporting to improve speed and accuracy.
  • Implement CI/CD processes for data solutions, including testing, monitoring, and alerting to ensure quality and reliability.
Analytics & Reporting Support
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making.
  • Build data models that enable risk assessment and supply chain optimization to drive business value.
  • Develop APIs and data services to support front-end applications and improve user experience.
  • Create monitoring and alerting systems for data pipeline health to ensure prompt issue resolution.
