Role Description

As a Backend Developer, you'll be responsible for designing and developing our backend services, which include APIs required for our mobile and web applications and other S2S interactions. You'll work on day-to-day tasks related to software development and programming. You'll also collaborate with the rest of the team (frontend devs, PMs, etc.) working on different layers of the infrastructure, who can independently lead development towards delivery in a fast-paced environment.

You'll bring your own thought process in creating test-driven development, automations of applications and backend services, etc. Thus, a commitment to collaborative problem-solving and sophisticated design with core emphasis on product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build high-performing and high-throughput web APIs.
  • Work with outside data sources and APIs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
  • Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience in backend development.
  • A self-starter with high resilience.
  • Highly goal-driven and works well in fast-paced environments.
  • Pays strong attention to detail and delivers work of high standard.
  • Works on high-performance and scalable applications and writes optimized code.
  • Takes complete responsibility for assigned development modules.
  • Has good problem-solving skills and a clear understanding of basic data structures and algorithms.
  • Expertise in one programming language (server-side JS or go preferred).
  • Proven experience in major web API development frameworks (ExpressJS, Phoenix, Gin, etc.).
  • Clear understanding of server-to-server interactions and practices.
  • Has a knack for debugging and deep diving into code (incl. libraries written by others).
