Job Opportunity: Financial Operations Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional to oversee financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our accounting systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with advanced accounting functions, regulatory compliance, and team leadership.

  1. Financial Operations:
  2. Retrieve and record cash receipts from banking transactions in billing and accounting systems.
  3. Post and allocate customer payments to corresponding invoices.
  4. Investigate unallocated cash receipts by coordinating with customers or internal teams to determine proper allocation.
  5. Reconcile discrepancies between the billing and accounting systems.
  6. Review and approve vendor invoices and payment schedules prepared by the accounting team.
  7. Oversee the reconciliation of vendor statements and address high-level discrepancies.
  8. Provide expert guidance in resolving accounting discrepancies and addressing client inquiries.
  9. Review and approve various reconciliations, including postage and revenue reports.
  10. Supervise the accounting team, ensuring task completion, scheduling, and escalation management.
  11. Verify the accuracy of reports and approve month-end closures.
  12. Participate in process audits by identifying improvement opportunities and maintaining comprehensive documentation.
  13. Train team members on processes, standards, and best practices.
  14. Monitor and report on SLA performance, identifying root causes for missed targets and implementing preventive measures.
  15. Address complex financial and operational challenges with innovative solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Key Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience with Great Plains or similar accounting/general ledger systems.
  • Familiarity with SLA reporting and client-specific billing practices (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Leadership and mentoring skills to effectively manage and develop junior staff.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to engage with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving processes.
