Job Title: Assistant Manager Legal

Location: Mumbai (On-site)

Employment Type: Full-Time

About The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented legal professional to join our team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will handle a broad range of legal matters including litigation, contracts, regulatory compliance, due diligence, and legal advisory. The position involves working closely with internal departments and external legal partners to support the company's operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Litigation Management:
  • Assist in managing civil and criminal cases, as well as arbitration matters.
  • Vet and ensure timely filing of pleadings in Courts, Tribunals, Fora, and with relevant Authorities.
  • Maintain and circulate up-to-date MIS (Management Information System) for all legal cases.
  • Non-Litigation:
  • Draft and review a wide range of legal documents, including:
  • Agreements, MOUs, Lease Deeds, Trust Deeds, Letters of Intent
  • Service Level Agreements, IT, Marketing, Admin, and Outsourcing Contracts
  • Non-Disclosure Agreements, Powers of Attorney
  • Vendor-related notices and documentation across departments (Admin / IT / HR / Marketing / Projects)
  • Corporate policies and procedures, including for the Maritime Training Institute
  • Conduct primary due diligence including:
  • Title searches for property transactions (sale, purchase, acquisition, lease)
  • Assist in the execution, registration, and formalities related to such transactions
  • Handle applications for Intellectual Property Rights.
  • Conduct legal research on applicable laws, circulars, notifications, policies, and case laws.
  • Work Relations:
  • Coordinate with internal departments to provide legal support across various functions.
  • Liaise with external vendors and legal agencies for contract execution and compliance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) – Mandatory
  • Minimum 7 to 8 years of relevant legal experience
