Freelance Security Operations Center Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Security Operations Center Analyst to join our team on a remote basis. This role involves working closely with security teams to implement threat detection and incident response playbooks, providing detailed reports on incidents, vulnerabilities, and security posture improvements, and continuously improving detection capabilities by leveraging threat intelligence feeds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, Analyze, and Investigate Security Alerts: Utilize SIEM tools (IBM QRadar & Microsoft Sentinel) to identify, triage, and respond to security incidents across enterprise systems.
  • Develop and Fine-Tune Correlation Rules, Alerts, and Dashboards: Enhance proactive threat detection capabilities through correlation rule development, alert fine-tuning, and dashboard optimization.
  • Conduct Log Analysis: Perform comprehensive log analysis from multiple sources (firewalls, servers, endpoints, applications, cloud).
  • Collaborate with Security Teams: Work closely with security teams to implement threat detection and incident response playbooks.
  • Provide Detailed Reports: Offer actionable insights through detailed reports on incidents, vulnerabilities, and security posture improvements.
  • Improve Detection Capabilities: Leverage threat intelligence feeds to enhance detection capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in a SOC environment with exposure to incident detection and response.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with IBM QRadar and Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Knowledge of log analysis, SIEM tuning, and security event correlation.
  • Familiarity with threat intelligence, MITRE ATT&CK framework, and incident response procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Certifications such as SOC Analyst, CEH, CompTIA Security+, Splunk, Microsoft Security Operations Analyst (SC-200).
  • Knowledge of cloud security (Azure, AWS).
