Our areas of expertise include handling regulatory requirements for import-export, Medical Device Registration, Legal Metrology, Environmental Regulatory Compliance, BIS Certifications, FSSAI licensing, and a wide array of other licenses and certifications.
Position Summary: We are seeking a Regulatory Affairs Specialist with expertise in BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) compliance. This role requires in-depth research into BIS standards, certification processes, and regulatory updates. The specialist will support our market research efforts by identifying potential clients needing BIS certifications, staying updated on relevant regulations, and collaborating across teams to align research insights with our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- BIS Standards Research and Documentation:
- Track and maintain lists of mandatory and voluntary Indian Standards (IS), product categories, and related standard committees.
- Conduct daily reviews of Quality Control Orders (QCOs) and monitor updates for new products anticipated to come under BIS.
- Maintain a detailed directory of Standard Committees, BIS region-wise, important designations, and ministerial hierarchies for efficient processing.
- Document common regulatory challenges faced by industries to support new service development and improve regulatory guidance for clients.
- Study and document BIS certification processes, including ISI, Foreign Manufacturer Certification Scheme (FMCS), and Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS).
- Stay updated on BIS fees and any changes, as well as ISO, IEC, and other regulatory collaborations (e.g., NABL, QCI, CSIR).
- Identify companies that may require BIS certification, especially those with products under the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS).
- Research market trends to align BIS offerings with client needs.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create accurate and informative BIS related content for marketing materials.
- Support the sales team by compiling frequently asked questions (FAQs) from client inquiries.
- Prepare training materials and provide insights to help the sales team address BIS-related queries effectively.
- Maintain lists of BIS offices, important designations, grievance hierarchies, and ministerial hierarchies for reference.
- Communicate effectively in both English and Hindi, ensuring clear and professional exchanges with clients and internal teams.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Public Policy, Market Research, Business Administration, International Trade, or Law.
- Certifications in BIS regulations, ISO/IEC standards, or quality compliance is preferred.
- Experience:
- 1-2 years in research, market analysis, or content creation, preferably in regulatory/compliance settings.
- Skills:
- Research & Analysis: Conduct market research and analyze regulatory trends.
- Communication: Proficient in English and Hindi, with strong verbal and written skills.
- Content Creation: Ability to create and organize content and FAQs.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of BIS, ISO, and IEC standards.
- Attention to Detail: Document and present complex information accurately.
- Learning Orientation: Stay current with BIS regulations and compliance standards.
